Winners of ‘Home Owners Helping Home Towns
Community and Charity Contest’ announced
Toronto, ON, November 17, 2011–Doug and Nancy Plourde, Dealer-Owners, Metro Home Hardware Building Centre presented Melissa Heng, from Toronto, and her charity of choice, Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation, with brand new Toyota Matrix as winners of the Home Owners Helping Home Towns Community & Charity Contest.
“This has been a wonderful early Christmas present for me,” said Melissa Heng. “Even better was giving the charity prize to the Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation. It was an easy decision for me as for many years now I’ve shaved my head in support of children with cancer.I have long admired children with cancer - their fortitude, their resilience and their determination to keep being children in spite of it all.”
The contest ranbetween June 29 and August 13, 2011 and gave home owners across Canada the opportunity to win the grand prize of a Toyota Matrix as well as one for their charity of choice. Entry ballots were accepted by visiting www.homehardware.ca. The grand prize winners of the Toyota Matrix were selected at random through a draw in eastern (QC, NB, NS, PEI, NFLD), western (MB, SK, AB, BC and Territories), and central (ON) Canada.
“Thank you to Melissa and all the Home Hardware stores across Canada for your generous involvement in the Home Owners Helping Home Towns Community & Charity Contest and the prize awarded to Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation,” said Megan Davidson, President and CEO, Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation. “Your kind support will help impact the lives of children battling cancer in our communities.”
