AnnFrances Tropea Foundation Donates $59,000

AnnFrances was a beautiful and gentle young woman who loved life. She enjoyed dancing, hanging out at the beach and playing soccer. Sadly, all that changed after her sweet 16th birthday when she developed excruciating pain after feeling a pop in her knee while practicing for a dance competition. Several invasive tests and numerous hospital visits later, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma – cancer of the bone.”
Sadly, after a 3 year battle, AnnFrances passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018.

We are honoured to announce that Childhood Cancer Canada has received a generous donation of $59,000 from the AnnFrances Tropea Foundation (AFTF). $50,000 of this funding will be dedicated to the C17 Council for a research grant for Osteosarcoma. The remaining $9,000 will be directed to Childhood Cancer Canada’s Benevolent Fund.

The C17 Council, a national organization of childhood cancer and blood disease program in Canada. Comprised of leading pediatric oncologists and hematologist, C17 is dedicated to childhood cancer and advocating for policies to improve outcomes and quality of life for children. The Benevolent Fund supports families with much needed financial assistance to help with the costs of their child’s funeral.

We are thrilled to have been given this opportunity to continue our mission of living in a world where childhood cancer doesn’t exist. Our sincere thanks goes to the AnnFrances Tropea Foundation (AFTF).
