ABOUT THE C17 COUNCIL

Since 2004, the Foundation has been the primary charitable funding partner of the C17 Council, supporting clinical trials and childhood cancer research in Canada. The C17 Council is led by the hematology / oncology Division Directors from all of the Canadian centres that treat children with cancer, including Canada's leading pediatric institutions, oncologists, and hematologists. The Foundation works with C17 Council with the goal of increased survival and wellbeing of our children, and ultimately a cure for all childhood cancers.

ABOUT PROFYLE  (PRecision Oncology For Young peopLE)

The Foundation also funds sequencing of hard-to-cure childhood cancers through the PROFYLE program to identify new therapies that are tailored to each patient and to improve the outcomes in hardto-cure childhood cancers. PROFYLE is the national multidisciplinary program that translates genetic sequencing into new treatments for children, adolescents and young adults with hard-to-cure cancer.

Programs

Childhood Cancer Canada supports families across the country who have been impacted by childhood cancer with programs that include: Empower Packs, provided to children newly diagnosed with cancer; the Emergency Fund, for Canadian childhood cancer families in active treatment who require some financial assistance; Survivor Scholarships, for childhood cancer survivors with post-secondary academic aspirations; and the Benevolent Fund, that provides financial assistance to help a family with the costs of their child's funeral.

With support of our donors and supporters, Childhood Cancer Canada distributed 197 EmPower Packs, provided 133 scholarships to students, and supported 46 families with the costs of their child’s funeral.
