Procom partners with Childhood Cancer Canada to be presenting sponsor of One Golden Night
Childhood Cancer Canada is excited to announce long-time partner, Procom is the presenting sponsor of One Golden Night; our signature event. Since 2015, this event, has raised more than $1,000,000 to support kids who are fighting the fight of their lives.
"We are incredibly proud to support Childhood Cancer Canada and their efforts to help children and families in need,” says Kent McCrea, president, Procom. “At Procom, we are committed to helping people do meaningful work and it’s hard to imagine more important work than what Childhood Cancer Canada is doing to support better outcomes for kids living with cancer."
For the first time in 16 years, Yannick Bisson and the Murdoch Mysteries team, including Shaftesbury, are opening their film set on Thursday, June 8, 2023, to Toronto's Childhood Cancer supporters to raise funds in support of pediatric oncology research in Canada. Thanks to philanthropists and Childhood Cancer Canada advocates Shantelle and Yannick Bisson, as well as presenting sponsor Procom, this marquee event will bring together childhood cancer families and supporters for one magical evening. In addition, One Golden Night provides a night of celebration for children who are living with a devastating cancer diagnosis.
“Childhood cancer is the number one cause of death by disease of Canadian children,” says Executive Director Sandi Hancox, Childhood Cancer Canada. “Thank you to the team at Procom for sponsoring One Golden Night and for their partnership to help us raise much needed funds for important research, programing, and support. Together, we can all continue to meet the important needs of children and their families in our Childhood Cancer Canada community.”
Each year 1,000 children, adolescents, and young adults in Canada are newly diagnosed with cancer. The biology, treatment and effects of treatment are unique to children. When a child is diagnosed, their entire family is affected. Childhood Cancer Canada’s efforts toward more positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adults fighting cancer in Canada are carried out by our family programs including Survivor Scholarships, EmPower Packs, Emergency and Benevolent Funds as well as investments in national, collaborative research.
Childhood Cancer Canada extends its sincere gratitude to Procom for their generous support and involvement in this wonderful event. Together, we will continue to provide vital support to children and families in Canada affected by childhood cancer.
